Our Approach to Booking & Cancellations at Yacht Insiders

At Yacht Insiders, we’re dedicated to making your luxury yacht experience seamless from start to finish. We understand that plans can sometimes change, and we aim to be as transparent and fair as possible regarding booking commitments and cancellations.

This page provides an overview of our general approach. Please remember that the full, legally binding details are contained within Section 4 of our Terms of Service and the specific Charter Agreement you will receive upon booking.

If You Need to Cancel Your Charter:

Specific Terms Apply:

Cancellation terms are specific to each yacht and the timing of your cancellation. These will be clearly outlined in your individual booking confirmation and official Charter Agreement.

Initial Deposits:

Generally, initial deposits are non-refundable. This is because your deposit secures your chosen yacht for your specific date, making it unavailable for other bookings.

Timing of Cancellation:

Cancellations made closer to your charter date may result in a higher portion of the charter fee being non-refundable, potentially up to the full amount.

Notify Us Promptly:

If you need to cancel, please contact us as soon as possible. We will always endeavor to be understanding and assist where feasible (for example, by trying to re-book the yacht for your dates), although this cannot be guaranteed.

Review Your Agreement:

We encourage you to carefully review the specific cancellation terms in your Charter Agreement once you receive it.

If Your Charter is Cancelled by Us or the Yacht Provider:

Our “No-Switch Assurance”:

In the very rare event that your confirmed yacht becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances (like unexpected mechanical issues), our commitment is to you. We will immediately work to secure a comparable or even superior alternative yacht for your charter, in line with our “No-Switch Assurance,” at no additional cost to your original booking price.

Your Options:

If a suitable alternative cannot be found, or if you choose not to accept the alternative offered, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid to Yacht Insiders for the charter.

Unforeseen Circumstances (Force Majeure):

  • Sometimes, events truly beyond anyone’s control (such as severe weather events officially deemed unsafe for navigation by authorities, natural disasters, or other “Force Majeure” events as more fully defined in our Terms of Service) can impact a charter.

    In these specific situations, where performance becomes impossible or unsafe, the terms of the Charter Agreement and our Terms of Service will apply regarding liability and potential refunds or rescheduling.

Our Strong Recommendation: Travel Insurance

 

To protect your investment and ensure peace of mind, we strongly recommend that all clients arrange comprehensive travel insurance. Good travel insurance can cover you for a variety of unforeseen circumstances, including:

  • Trip cancellation or interruption due to personal reasons (e.g., illness).
  • Cancellations due to certain types of severe weather.
  • Medical emergencies and evacuations.
